Service: Docos.TV (docos.tv and associated apps)
Company: Northover Media, Inc., a Delaware corporation
Operations: Perth, Western Australia, Australia

1. Who We Are

Docos.TV (“we,” “us,” “our”) is operated by Northover Media, Inc., a corporation incorporated in the State of Delaware, United States, with operations based in Perth, Western Australia, Australia. We provide a free, ad-supported documentary streaming service through our website at docos.tv and our native apps on Android (phone, tablet, and Google TV), Amazon Fire TV, and Roku (collectively, the “Service”).

Our Service is primarily intended for users in the United States. We also serve international users, including in Australia, the United Kingdom, the European Union, and other countries. Where your jurisdiction grants you specific privacy rights, those are addressed below.

2. Scope

This Policy covers personal information collected when you use the Service, including when you create a free account, watch channels, or otherwise interact with docos.tv and the Docos.TV apps — whether collected directly by us or through third-party tools.

3. Information We Collect

Information you provide at signup

Access to the Docos.TV web guide requires a free account. When you sign up we collect:

  • First name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • State or territory, and the country derived from it
  • Your marketing consent and the date/time it was given

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: pages and channels viewed, clicks, session duration, referrer URL
  • Device and technical data: IP address, approximate (city-level) location, browser, device type, operating system
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 6)
  • Advertising and conversion data via pixels and tags

Information from third parties

  • Analytics providers (e.g., Google Analytics)
  • Advertising platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Meta Ads)
  • Embedded media and stream providers — governed by their own policies

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information such as health data, financial account numbers, government identifiers, or precise geolocation. Please do not submit such information.

4. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your free account and provide the Service
  • To send the double opt-in confirmation and account communications
  • To send marketing communications you have consented to (see Section 5)
  • To personalise your experience and, where you have consented, to personalise advertising
  • To serve and measure advertising that keeps the Service free
  • To measure performance and conduct analytics
  • To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • To comply with applicable legal obligations

5. Email Marketing & MailerLite

We use MailerLite as our email service provider to manage signups and send communications. When you create an account, your details are stored in MailerLite as a subscriber and you are sent a confirmation email (double opt-in); you remain unconfirmed until you click the link.

You can withdraw consent and unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by emailing privacy@docos.tv. Unsubscribing stops marketing emails; we may still send essential service messages where permitted.

7. How We Share Your Information

Service providers. Companies that help us operate the Service (hosting, email delivery via MailerLite, analytics, advertising, consent management). They are contractually bound to protect your data and may only use it as directed by us.

Advertising partners. To keep Docos.TV free, we work with advertising partners who may receive a device advertising identifier and related signals to serve and measure ads. You can opt out as described in Sections 6 and 8.

Legal requirements. When required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all assets, with appropriate notice.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Because Docos.TV uses advertising identifiers for advertising, certain disclosures may be treated as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under some U.S. state laws; you may opt out as described in Section 8.
